BSc. CSIT vs. BIT: Choosing the right IT Degree in Nepal

Model Institute of Technology (MIT) College, located at Bagbazar, Kathmandu, provides students with a more practical, flexible, and globally relevant approach.

Our BIT program is popular for its global curriculum, international degree recognition, and flexible pathways for transferring credits abroad.

With our unique collaboration with the International American University (IAU), situated in Los Angeles, California, students gain access to a globally recognized American-style curriculum right here in Nepal, saving significant time and money compared to studying abroad for the same course.

This international affiliation ensures that the course content stays updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies like AI, Cybersecurity, Machine learning, and many more through the help of modern labs, real-life projects, internships, hackathons, and professional guest lectures from the tech industries.

Unlike the TU BSc CSIT program, our BIT program has no stressful competitive national-level entrance exams; we directly conduct the admission session based on your +2 grades and performance.

Graduates leave MIT with not just a degree, but practical skills, international exposure, and even the option of credit transfer to international universities if the student intends to continue their studies abroad.

For students who want a future-ready IT degree that blends strong academics with hands-on skills and a global perspective, the foreign-affiliated BIT program at MIT College truly offers an unbreakable advantage!!!!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the Passing Score for the TU CSIT Exam?

If you’re a B.Sc. CSIT student under Tribhuvan University, understanding the passing criteria is just as important as preparing for your exams. The rule is straightforward: you need at least 40% in each subject to pass.

This requirement applies separately to:

  • Theory exams – You must secure 40% or more in the written portion.
  • Practical exams – If your course has a practical component, you must score 40% or more here as well.

It’s worth noting that even if your combined total is above 40%, failing to meet the 40% threshold in either theory or practical means you will have to reappear in that section.
